Principal Administrator for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris

Richard Sigman is a Principal Administrator for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. He joined the OECD in 1993, and has been responsible for OECD’s work on chemical risk management, new chemicals, pesticides and biocides, and environmental outlooks. He currently is responsible for OECD’s programme on Good Laboratory Practice, Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTRs), exposure assessment, and liaison with newly emerging economies including the accession of the Russian Federation to the OECD.  Prior to joining OECD, he worked for the US Chemical Manufacturers Association, the Executive Office of the US President, and the Environmental Protection Agency.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in social ecology from the University of California, Irvine and a Masters degree
in Public Administration in environmental policy from Indiana University.
