Dr. K. Satyamoorthy obtained his PhD from Bombay University in 1987 and since then, he has been involved in various aspects of research and developmental activities in molecular pharmacology, population variation.
Pharmacogenomcis, human genetics, epigenetics and cancer.  He is the Director of Manipal Life Sciences Centre of Manipal University since 2004.
He has over 120 publications to his credit, delivered over 100 invited lectures and has several national and international patents.  He is actively involved in Industry-Institute interactions.  Manipal Life Science Centre is associated with three major activity areas such as education, research and diagnostics. Life Sciences Center is the Center of Excellence in Pharmacogenomics (from TIFAC-CORE; Department of Science and Technology) and recognized for Translational Research (Department of Biotechnology,
Government of India).
