Magí Almirall works in the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He leads the Office of Learning Technologies. Since 1995 he has worked in the IT department leading the development of the UOC virtual campus platform . His current work focuses on two themes; tools for e-learning platforms and new formats of learning contents. These projects focus on standardization, accessibility for people with disabilities, usability and free software development. His team received the IGC (Internet Global Congress) innovation award 2006 and the IMS Gold “Best Mobile Learning Solution” 2008 and Center of Excellence of New Media Consortium (NMC) 2009. His accessibility development gives new services for people with disabilities but at same time creates new learning solutions for all.
