Bruno Hubesch

Dr Bruno Hubesch obtained his Master degree in Nuclear Chemistry in 1980 and his PhD in Physical Chemistry in the area of Photochemistry in 1985 from the University of Louvain, Belgium. During his PhD he carried out his research at the University of Strasbourg under supervision of Jean-Marie Lehn (Nobel Chemistry 1987).
After a year as non-commissioned officer in the Belgian Air Force, he pursued  from 1987 to 1990 postdoctoral research as a Fulbright Scholar and NATO Science Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco at the Faculty of Medecine at the Veterans Administration Hospital. There he developed magnetic resonance spectroscopy techniques for metabolic imaging in humans for Philips Medical Systems. More than 20 peer reviewed papers mostly in medical journal resulted form this research, and he served later on as reviewer in Radiology and Epilepsia.
In 1990 he joined Procter & Gamble, Household Care R&D where he worked as a Principal Scientist on upstream technology and formulation global product design on fabric softeners, new brand development on fabric finishing, and on laundry detergents for emerging markets. During that time he also developed as an expert in IP litigations in the European Patent court. Since 2000 he pioneered R&D capabilities in Open Innovation techniques. He is the holder of 23 granted patent and several pending applications.
In January 2009 he joined in secondment Cefic Research & Innovation as the Long-Range Research Initiative (LRI) Program Manager.
