Gary McMurray is a Principal Research Engineer at the Georgia Tech Research Institute and Division Chief for the Food Processing Technology Division. The division has experts in sensing for food quality and food safety, robotics, environmental technologies focused on waste streams from food processing plants, and water/energy sustainability. Mr. McMurray’s research has focused on the development of robotic technologies and solutions for the agribusiness community, including the protein industry and the fruit and vegetable industry. In addition, he has been involved in the creation of food processing cooperatives and food hubs to support local small farmers to sell their products into the distribution chain. Mr. McMurray
received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He has been with the Georgia Tech Research Institute for over 23 years.
