Dr. Fred Wright

Principal Research Engineer (GTRI/ELSYS)

Dr. Fred Wright has twenty-five years in research and development of cyber and electronic warfare systems.  Dr. Wright serves as the Associate Laboratory Director and Chief Engineer of the Cyber Technology and Information Security Laboratory within the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). The Laboratory focuses on transferring cutting edge technologies into commercial and military systems. Dr. Wright’s current research focuses on novel network analyses and cyber situation awareness. As an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science, he works with students and professors to identify new applied research and technology integration opportunities.
 
Dr. Wright has applied systems engineering principles to the development of complex network-centric systems that have been fielded in a variety of environments including ground-based, airborne, and maritime.
 
Dr. Wright is the lead for Cyber Security short courses in Systems Engineering and contributes to the Professional Masters in Applied Systems Engineering.
